The Partiologist: Herb Garden Cupcakes!

Herb Garden Cupcakes!

It's no secret I don't have a green thumb.  In fact, my neighborhood is hosting the Junior League garden tour this summer, when my neighbor was asked if they thought I would like to participate, she laughed and said "she has artificial flowers in her urns"!  Really, who doesn't want to see a beautiful fake faux flower arrangement potted in urns?
Come to find out, no one.

Maybe you'll want to see what I've potted in these garden pots.

Herb Garden Cupcakes!

I've always wanted to grow my own herbs, and I finally found the perfect way for me to start my herb garden.

Complete with the printable herb garden marker, just to make sure you know what you're growing or eating!

Grab your dirt and pots.

Spray the insides of small terra cotta pots with baker's spray.

Cut small squares out of foil and cover the hole in the bottom.

Place the pots in a baking pan.

Make your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe.

Fill each pot half full, with batter.

Bake a little extra cake for crumbling.

Bake the cupcakes, watching closely until they are done.

Remove from oven and cool.

Frost the top of the cupcake with chocolate frosting or ganache.

Crumble the extra cake and top each pot, to make it look like dirt.

Melt green candy melts and pipe your herb seedlings onto parchment paper.

Refrigerate until firm.

Thanks to the clip art I purchased on Etsy, I made Herb Markers.

Print and cut the herb marker printables.  HERE

Glue or tape the paper makers to a small coffee stirrer or popsicle stick.

Add the markers and green candy seedling to each pot.

And...they're growing.

Easiest way to grow an herb garden and a perfect little gift for mom.

They're Herbalicious!
