Christmas Cookies in July

What better way to cool things down than with a little snow.  With it being July, the only way to do that is with a snowflake cookie, or maybe I should say a Jumbo Snowflake Cookie?  Today I'm participating in a #christmascookiesinjuly cookie collaboration hosted by two of the greatest cookie creators ever... Callye (Sweet Sugarbelle) and Georganne (LilaLoa).  Be sure to check out all the blogs where you'll see all the other beautiful Christmas Cookie creations.

North Pole Place Cards!

Because I won't be hosting Christmas dinner this year and I wanted to make place cards, I decided the perfect setting would be at the dinner Santa is hosting for his reindeer.  You didn't know Santa hosted a dinner party did you?  How else did you think the reindeer have all that energy to fly through the sky?

This year they're going to be flying high when they see how cute their place cards are.  And if you are hosting Christmas dinner, you can use your guests names.  Or let them pretend they are the reindeer...I would want to be a reindeer, so from now on please call me Vixen.

Oh Christmas Cookie Tree!

There was ONE way I wanted to package these cookies.  Remember those clear glass jars, shaped like trees and the top of the tree came off?  Well, back in the day I had my share of them, I filled them, gifted them, used them year after year.  Then I got rid of them, because I thought I had used them for everything.  NOT!

Fast forward twenty years or so, they aren't anywhere to be found.  Which means I needed to switch gears to plan C...plan A & B both included the jars.  It's probably a good thing I didn't find the jars because I really like both ways this Christmas Cookie Tree turned out.

Christmas Cookie Decorating Kit!

This time of year there's one thing everyone needs...time!  And now you can give a gift and time.  The time it takes to get everything ready to decorate cookies for Christmas sometimes takes the fun out of decorating...so I've been told.  When I came up with this idea many years ago and offered it for sale, I was told it was genius and that doesn't happen often.

Here it is, everything needed to decorate a dozen cookies packaged up all pretty.

Snoopy's Ornament Cookie!

It wouldn't be a party without a cookie, right?  Inspired by the backdrop from my Charlie Brown Christmas dessert table, I created Snoopy's Doghouse Cookie Ornament.

Because they are quite simple to make, you just might want to serve them at your party too!

A Charlie Brown Christmas Party!

Today I'm back with one of my favorite guys...Charlie Brown.  I mean really, who doesn't love him?  I remember sitting down to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas long before there were DVD's, TiVo or even remotes.  And did you know it's the 50th Anniversary of the movie?  Now it seems Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang are everywhere and I can watch it anytime and make it party time!

In Oriental Trading's exclusive A Charlie Brown Christmas collection, I found so many fun crafts to make, then I realized...not only could they be used as crafts, they could be used as dessert décor.  This is one of the many ways I found to use the products!

Surprise Inside Gift Cookies!

Hi Everyone!  Today I'm sharing a surprise inside cookie tutorial over at
Hungry Happenings.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are ready to start wrapping your Christmas Gifts.   Meaning, edible Surprise Inside Gift Cookies.  Yes, I know the surprise inside cookie has been around for quite some time, however, NOT everyone has heard of the surprise inside cookie.  I know this because, while on my last shopping trip, I started visiting with a sweet gal in the Christmas baking isle.  She picked up a set of two cutters, both in the shape of a present, trying to figure out what they meant by the "treat inside".  She said to me, "you must not bake anything chocolate in the cookie or it would melt, right?"

That was all I needed, a cookie question I could answer and pretty soon we were best friends.  Which made me realize, NOT everyone looks online at cookies everyday.  So for those, I decided to put together a tutorial of the Surprise Inside Gift Cookie.  Check it out at Hungry Happenings!

DIY Cookie Baking Gift Set!

Today it's all about the good deals.  And to save you the trouble of black Friday shopping, I'm sharing an easy Christmas gift idea, which can be made for a great price anytime.  Like now.  And it's snowing, yes, I said snowing and cold, so I thinks it's time to start baking.

While on a cheap date to the Dollar Store, which wasn't much of a date because my husband didn't want to come in with me, I found a few things I thought would make a fun little gift.
