Cute and Creepy Halloween Treats!

EEK!  Next week begins October and I'm sure you're looking for a little trick or possibly a little treat.  Some of my favorite Halloween ideas include candy corn, cute and creepy spiders, chocolate and more!

Halloween Tricks and Treats!

Creepy Eye Cake Pop!

If you like creepy, you're going to love this eerie eyeball cake pop.  Because skeleton hands are holding it.  Now you can find out how to make it too!

Creepy Tombstone Cookie!

How do you like your Halloween?  Creepy?  If so, you're in for a treat.  I've got scary, creepy tombstone cookies complete with a bloody skeleton hand.

Spider Lollipop!

Something is telling me you haven't made your spider lollipop yet.  After today, you'll have no reason not to.  Even if you don't like spiders, you'll like this.

Tombstone Sugar Cookies!

This could possibly be the easiest cookie I've ever made.  It's a sugar cookie topped with a chocolate tombstone made from a mold, a bit of frosting for grass and a sprinkle of bones.  Now if that doesn't say Halloween, I don't know what does!

Candy Corn Colored Cake and Candy!

My first thought for this cake was to make it candy corn shaped, then I realized I could make the layers candy corn colors and be just as happy.  In fact, I think I'm happier because I didn't carve away at my little cake, possibly making a mess of the whole thing.

Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats with Video!

Now you can make the adorable candy corn Rice Krispie treats drizzled with candy melts.  I've got a video showing how!

Easy Oreo Spiders!

EEK!  I'm not scared, just excited!  Because these little spiders are so cute AND because I made a video showing you how to make them.  I even added a few photos of the process and if you read to the end, you'll see the multi colored spiders too!

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

It's The Great Pumpkin and it's A Great Party! I just love Peanuts and the gang, so when I found the Peanuts Great Pumpkin party supplies at Oriental Trading, I thought it would be a great way to kick off the fall season, taking you right into Halloween!

Along Came a Spider...

I'll be the first to admit I hate spiders, but for some reason, I kind of like these cookies.  Maybe if real life spiders were bright colored I might like them, umm, probably not.

Remember when I wasn't going to buy any more stuff for Halloween?  Well, it was only a dollar, so I don't think this really counts.  And it wasn't my fault.  I had to stop at the post office and right next door was the Dollar Store.  I mean, I didn't plan where the Dollar Store would be, right?

Anyway, I stopped in and found the little foam shaped spiders.  They were hanging there, in plain site, I had to buy them because I had a plan.

Eyeball Cupcakes!

I really didn't plan to make anything too creepy this Halloween.  But I went shopping.  Shopping always leads to a purchase I didn't plan.  Trust me when I say, I didn't have bloody eye gumballs on my shopping list.  And I can't help it if I didn't stick to the plan.

Anyway, I found creepy eye gumballs, making the perfect topper for the cupcakes.

Halloween Cookies!

It's official. Fall. September. Halloween.  All at the same time, or at least everywhere I turn I see Fall and Halloween stuff.  And so far...no Halloween purchases. You see I'm trying to just say no when it comes to buying more stuff.  Sometimes it's hard and I don't know if I'll get through the season without buying something new.  Unless, someone casts a spell on me.  I think my husband might have those powers.  We'll see.

Anyway, because I've made so many Halloween cookies, I decided to share them with you.  And by sharing, I mean share the photos, you don't actually get to eat them. Sorry.

Chocolate Bones!

I can't believe I didn't get all my Halloween projects finished!  Okay, I believe it...because I don't think I would ever get time to finish the projects that are creeping around in my mind.  It's a scary place, my mind.

One of the things I wanted to do since last Halloween was make chocolate skeleton bones.  Several ways came to mind, but I needed easy, something to take to my neighbor's for game night.  Using chocolate cookie dough made the perfect background for the royal icing bones.

Spider Web Brownie!

I should start by saying I don't like spiders, not even a little.  However, for some odd reason they're creeping up all over my blog.  Today they might be a good as they're going to get.  Because they're sitting on top of a beautiful edible cake lace spider web which is sitting on top of a brownie.  What could be better than that?

Along Came A Spider...

This Halloween I'm really trying not to buy any more stuff.  Because I already have more Halloween stuff than a person needs.  So I've been trying to stay out of the stores...because if I don't see it, I won't need it right?

I'm pretty sure you know what happened, before I knew it I was home with a new pack of Halloween straws.  And if that's all I end up buying this Halloween season, I can guarantee someone has cast a spell on me.

Candy Corn Toss!

While most parents are encouraging children not to play with their food, I'm doing the opposite.  In fact, this is another project which promotes playing with cookies.  Just so we're clear, today it's okay to play with your food.

This is what I'm talking about people.  I've made a game using cookies.

Finger Puppet Ghost Cookie!

Let's have fun playing with our food, okay?  Something not only kids will want to do.

Today I'm sharing the finger puppet ghost cookies I created as part of "13 Days of Handmade Halloween" hosted by Keisha of Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams.  Check it out, you'll find fun Halloween ideas each and every day.

One Stop Halloween Shop!

I can't believe two weeks ago I was in flip flops and today I'm turning on the heat.  Yep, it's time to shift gears to Fall and of course Halloween.  It was easy to turn these favors into Tricks and Treats, with the help of Oriental Trading, your One Stop Halloween Shop!

Mummy Cake with Edible Gauze!

I would like to start this post by saying how much thought and intricate planning went into the making of this Mummy Cake.  Only I can't.  In reality and as my mom would say...
"it was a happy mistake".  I didn't plan to make a Mummy Cake at all, but when I made a mess of another project, this is what happened...

Pumpkin Patch Cookies!

You probably guessed when I was making the chocolate covered apple cookies stand, they wouldn't be the last of my standing cookies.  I'm afraid it's only the beginning because I keep coming up with things I can make stand...like these cookies.
